Fr Andrew was born and raised in North Northumberland. On leaving school he worked in retail in Edinburgh and The North East before joining the Police Service.
Fr Andrew joined Cambridgeshire Police in 2001, City of London Police in 2004 and The Metropolitan Police in 2008; formally leaving the police in 2019.
Fr Andrew was initial licensed as a Lay Worker in The Parish of Portslade and Mile Oak (Brighton) in 2014. In December 2016 he was ordained Deacon and then priest in June 2017 remaining in the Parish of Portslade and Mile Oak as Assistant Curate. He was posted to the Parish of All Saints Sidley, and the Parish of St Barnabas, Bexhill in June 2019.
In December 2020, Fr Andrew was appointed as Priest-in-Charge of The Parish of Chidham, and, The Parish of Funtington with West Stoke and Sennicotts. Serving both Parishes, Fr Andrew lives in the vicarage at Chidham.
Fr Andrew holds a foundation degree in Theology from Christ Church University, Canterbury; a BA in Theology from Durham University and is currently studying for a Master's Degree in Canon Law with Cardiff University.
Fr Andrew is in a civil partnership with John. They have a dog called Dixie - he is a crossbreed Scottie/Cairn; they also have 5 hens, collective known as 'The Holy Hens of Chidham'.
